Meet Phil and Muzz — the #Floodwits
In our spare time we volunteer with the NSW SES where we specialise in flood rescue among plenty of other things. That is how the name #Floodwits came about. We have seen just how tough life can get for people doing it hard and now we are taking that same energy from helping our local community and putting it toward something even bigger. Cancer.
We are taking part in Shitbox Rally 2026 Autumn, driving our trusty chariot from Port Douglas to Melbourne. It is a seven day adventure in a car worth less than fifteen hundred dollars. This rally is not just about the wild roads or the unreliable cars. It is about raising money and awareness to support vital cancer research.
Our goal is to raise more than ten thousand dollars for the Cancer Council. That money goes directly into the hands of researchers working to save lives and improve outcomes for people affected by cancer. Every team is required to raise a minimum of five thousand dollars just to take part. We are aiming well beyond that and we would love your support.
Every donation, no matter how small, has a real impact. It all helps. It all counts.
So throw in a few bucks, follow our journey, and come along for the ride as the Floodwits try to kick cancer’s arse with nothing but good intentions and an incredibly average car.

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
