We're thrilled to announce that we're taking part in Shitbox Rally 2026 - Autumn! We’ll be hitting the road in our $1,500-or-less Shitbox, driving from Port Douglas to Melbourne on an unforgettable 7-day adventure. It’s not just about the drive—it’s about making a real difference in the fight against cancer.
We're taking on the Shitbox Rally with heavy hearts, full memories, and a powerful purpose: to honour the incredible friends we've lost to cancer. This drive is for them — their laughter, their strength, their stories — and for everyone still fighting.
Robin has lost a niece Alex and a close friend Michael. He has 2 other friends battling cancer at the moment - taking part in this rally ensures we remember them.
*Remembering Jane and Raising Funds for Cancer Research*
Simon remembers Jane, who passed away in March 2025, faced a courageous battle with cancer. Initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and declared disease-free in late 2013, her fight resumed in January 2024 with the discovery of metastases. Despite an initial positive prognosis, the cancer aggressively spread in late 2024. Throughout her journey, Jane remained incredibly positive, a testament to her strength. Her experience is the driving force behind my commitment to raise money for cancer research, aiming to help future patients maintain a good quality of life.
Cancer has touched our lives in the most personal and painful ways. We've watched friends face it with courage and grace, and we've felt the heartbreak of saying goodbye too soon. This rally is our tribute. It's our way of turning grief into action, memory into momentum, and pain into hope.
We’re driving thousands of kilometres in a car worth less than $1,500 — not for the thrill (though there’ll be plenty of that), but to raise vital funds for cancer research. Because research gives us answers. It gives people time. It saves lives. We miss our friends every day. But through this journey, we carry them with us — in every mile, every laugh, every breakdown (mechanical or emotional). This is for them — and for the future we want to build, free from cancer.
Every participating team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000. Every dollar raised goes directly to Cancer Council and helps fund vital cancer research, which is why we’re doing everything we can to hit our goal. Your support, whether big or small, will have a real impact.

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
